Kathy’s Political Philosophy

It is Kathy’s belief that government should take less from you, be better stewards of what it does take and use those resources wisely. After all it is YOUR money.

Serving you is the reason government exists, not the other way around. In short, Kathy will continue to strive for smaller government, less taxation, and less regulation, thereby supporting a vibrant economy.

Kathy will work to see that you keep more of your hard earned money, at the same time keeping government in its place, that is, providing infrastructure, administering justice and keeping us secure.

Transportation

Serving as Co-Chair of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Committee, Senator Harrington had the opportunity for an in-depth look at North Carolina’s transportation budget.

“We have unmet maintenance needs across our state. Deteriorating bridges and incomplete projects put us at a disadvantage when recruiting businesses to North Carolina and make it challenging for existing businesses to thrive. It is time for us to take fiscal responsibility for our current roads, complete unfinished projects and get our road maintenance back on track. We need to take care of what we have and finish what we started.”

Kathy believes a well-cared for dependable statewide transportation system is key to recruiting new businesses and allows existing businesses to grow and flourish.
