Thank you for visiting the Kathy Harrington for North Carolina Senate website.
For the first time in over 100 years, there is a republican majority in the North Carolina legislature. It is an honor to serve as your senator during this historic time in our great state, thank you.
During my first term in the North Carolina Senate, we balanced the state budget without raising taxes, passed legislation to reduce the regulatory burden on businesses and began to set a better tax environment for all North Carolina citizens.
Always searching for ways to reduce the size of government and protect your individual freedoms I was proud to sponsor “The Castle Doctrine”. This legislation gives you more gun rights than ever before and allows you to exercise your right to protect your loved ones and property.
The “Unborn Victims of Violence Act” insures the perpetrator of a crime against a pregnant woman will be charged with a second crime if the unborn child is harmed or dies as a result of the attack. As a sponsor of that legislation, I kept my promise to voters to protect the unborn and vow to continue to do so.
Thank you for the honor of allowing me to represent you in the North Carolina Senate. I look forward to continuing to provide responsive, accountable leadership for the citizens of Gaston County.
